This year there is a big carnival in Russia – 60 years of Yuri Gagarin's flight in space. His flight, on April the 12-th , 1961, lasted 108 minutes - he circled the Earth for a little more than one orbit onboard the Soviet Union's Vostok spacecraft.
Many museums in Russia will provide special thematic excursions and programs about space achievements, but we would like to introduce you a venue which is not very known but where you can get new experience.
This is Planetarium in Star City. Star City is world known training center for cosmonauts and astronauts and besides some special equipment, like centrifuge, hydro swimming pool and MIR Station Modul where our future cosmonauts are trained-Planetarium is their training school. It is made for studying the celestial sphere and to learn astronavigation with the help of some optical-visual devices.
We would be happy to organize a special visit to Star City and to get inside Planetarium once all the borders are open and we all can travel without any obstacle. Just let us know and we will do it for you!
